120 Years of history

"Caffè Fiaschetteria Italiana 1888" was founded by Ferruccio Biondi Santi, the inventor of the Brunello wine. Familiarly known as "Florian" in Montalcino, the café is a lovely example of Italian Art Deco, featuring period red-velvet sofas, long mirrors, tables in

yellow marble, delicate display cases. A proud member of the association of "Historic Cafés of Italy," the Caffé has long been the setting for cultural events, wine tastings, and friendly gatherings. The Caffé's famous guests include Prince Charles of Wales. The Caffé's management remind us of the café's 123 years of history: from its founding by Ferruccio Biondi Santi in Piazza del Mercato (Market Square) in the heart of Montalcino as an elegant and appropriate setting for guests to sample his wine, to its current status as a feather in the cap of the Montalcino community, and a can't-miss stop on the tour of the Brunello region's most famous watering holes.
